It was only recently I decided I want to make art, after I stayed in Berlin for six weeks to find out what role photography was to play in my life. As a photographer I have been active for quite a while, but always alongside my studies and work. However, while wandering the streets in Berlin looking for a subject, I started to ask questions about myself as a photographer: who I am? what do I want to communicate? Why do I photograph the way I do? The only answer that made sense to me is that photography is a way to make sense of the world around me, to structure what I see. Important themes in my work are sorrow and the inability to hold onto passing moments in time.
